QC Technician – Analytical Services (Wed-Sat 7am-5:30pm)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative team player with a passion for hands-on work in a dynamic, fast-paced laboratory environment. This role involves routine testing, sample handling, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing, including:
  • pH
  • Conductivity
  • Nitrate identification
  • Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
  • Visual appearance assessments
• Receive, handle, and properly dispose of laboratory samples by safety and compliance protocols.
• Calibrate or verify the calibration of laboratory instruments and devices before use.
• Accurately document test results and promptly report any deviations or quality concerns.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and perform general housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in all required training programs and maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures and regulations.
• Adhere to all applicable regulatory and safety requirements, including those related to cleanroom environments.

This position is an indoor, lab-based role, working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing cleanrooms and laboratory spaces. Position requires significant time spent in ISO 8 cleanrooms with the following restrictions:

• No cosmetic products or applications (such as makeup, false lashes, spray tans, tinted moisturizer,  etc) are permitted and must be removed before entry
• Nails must be kept short, trimmed, and unadorned (no nail polish, rhinestones, etc)
• No jewelry may be worn (exceptions are medical alert-related and one smooth ring band that a glove can easily cover)
• Hair must be able to be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet, and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and able to be secured in a beard cover.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other science-related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience 
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies 
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail 
• Desire to work in a moderately physical role that requires standing much of the time
• Strong computer and organizational skills 
• Fosters a healthy, trusting environment and champions transparency and communication
• GMP, biopharmaceutical, or other related industry experience
• Familiarity with LIMS

Additional Details: 

The work schedule will be Wednesday through Saturday, 7 am-5:30 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
