The Retail Marketing Specialist is responsible for day-to-day management of retail marketing functions within JD Sports, Finish Line and Finish Line at Macy’s stores in the US related to expansion and new sites.  This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

  • Partners with Store Development Team and Store Design Teams to understand floor plans, ensuring accurate graphic ordering for all new site locations across JD, Finish Line, and Finish Line Macy’s in preparation for opening.

  • Manages store digital screens extensions at new stores to include execution and deployment across JD, Finish Line and Finish Line Macy’s in partnership with the IT implementation teams. 

  • Responsible for working closely with the Regional Marketing, Print Production, and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure the store is delivered in complete for opening - this in inclusive of all print and digital needs from a Marketing perspective required for opening. 

  • Management and execution of all print production marketing operations functions within new stores. Management includes delivering appropriate specs, print production involvement and job management through tracking systems (such as Basecamp), to ensure timely delivery and correct installation.

  • Responsible for partnering with Retail Marketing Manager and Senior Retail Marketing Specialist to identify and support product priorities appropriately based on the requirements of new stores.  

  • Partners with our Regional Marketing, Creative, and Print Production teams to ensure our store spec and dimension documentation and matrix platform is updated reflecting all new store needs from a Marketing perspective inclusive of print and digital executions.

  • Collaborates with Store Development teams to optimize inputs, outputs, and supporting processes to drive efficiency and accuracy, reducing “go backs” and unnecessary ongoing bespoke marketing development.

  • Leads retail marketing efforts for moment-specific efforts, such as Tax Free Weekends, Holiday Gift Zone, Lease Required Advertising programs and other promotions.

  • Responsible for collaborating cross-functionally regarding any internal requests and creative needs for the Corporate Requests to include management through execution.

  • Additional duties and projects as required.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Advertising or Communications from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-2 years of marketing, digital and/or retail experience required. Internal JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Should be well-versed and a power user of current social media platforms including Instagram, SnapChat and Facebook. Understanding of Google Cloud platform and tools helpful.
