Position Title: Retail Assistant
Classification: General Retail Award – Level 3
Department: Noosa Homemaker Family Store
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
About the role:
This position supports the daily retail and warehouse operations of the Noosa Homemaker Family Store by delivering customer-focused service in alignment with the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
How you will make an impact:
- Provide outstanding customer service and assistance across all areas of the store, including the shop floor, fitting rooms, register, and other areas as required.
- Support the coordination and execution of in-store marketing and promotional activities.
- Assist in processing donations and ensure stock is appropriately priced and consistently replenished on the shop floor.
- Open and close the store in accordance with established procedures.
- Adhere to secure cash handling and banking protocols.
- Offer guidance, coaching, and direction to team members as needed.
- Assist in supervising staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards and ensure stock presentation aligns with store guidelines.
What you will be bring:
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service in a retail environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
- Supervisory experience in retail or a similar setting is highly regarded.
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
- Understanding of work health and safety requirements and a commitment to safe work practices.
- A reasonable level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
