Pay: The expected hiring range for this position is from $100,499 to $125,624 plus additional bonus opportunity. The stated hiring range is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Final compensation decisions will take into account a variety of considerations, including individual skills, internal equity, and organizational needs.

JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager role exists to oversee the Business Development Specialists with a focus on driving new personal lines business opportunities and increase of Agency Selection for HomeFirst Agency. Identifies and pursues new lead channels (mortgage companies, builders, etc.), potential customers, markets and partnerships that align with Agency goals.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Business Development Management
- Manages the Business Development Staff to include the following positions:
Business Development Specialist II
- Manages and ensures success of the day-to-day HFA business development for 300+ home centers.
- Works closely with the team to ensure goals are met through open communication and teamwork.
- Develop, implement, and maintain marketing strategy and sales processes to maximize HFA profit
- Works to identify opportunities for process improvement and develops innovative solutions.
- Assists to effectively manage the workload to meet or exceed established service levels.
- Prepare and oversee business development/marketing budgets and approve budget expenditures.
- Collaborates with leadership to develop budgets and goals.
- Track and report on business development performance.
- Meet with Sales Manager and Business Development Specialist on regular basis to understand their needs and communicate sales and marketing strategies.
Drive New Business Opportunities
- Identify new leads and pursue potential clients, markets and partnerships through networking, online research and industry events.
- Develop and execute business development plans to reach new markets including Clayton Properties Group and external lenders.
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Close deals and secure new business leads thru negotiation and contract management
- Collaborate with Sales to align business growth strategies and achieve shared goals
- Represent HFA at industry meetings to learn and promote products and marketing opportunities.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Works with Sales Manager to send marketing emails to customers and prospects within Marketing Automation.
- Work with Digital Marketing to manage and optimize HFA website as well as online marketing opportunities
- Manages the supply chain for insurance related marketing material for Retail HC agents.
- Communicate and collaborate with other HFA departments and HFA leadership to align marketing efforts.
HR and Talent Management
- Collaborates with department leadership team in quality candidate selection, coaching and growth development including mentorships and performance reviews.
- Reviews Paid Time Off (PTO) requests for scheduling requirements.
- Counsels’ department team members in developing and implementing new processes, along with updating the team on changes and tools they need for the change.
- Facilitates training for sales agent new hires.
- Ensures the culture of the department is defined, effective, and healthy for our customers, team members, and the company.
- Provides accountability and coaching to ensure that team members maintain a standard of excellence for the Customer Experience.
- Ensures appropriate department staffing levels are consistently maintained.
- Monitors staff performance and is responsible for fulfilling hiring needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, college preferred
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience required. 1-3 years leadership experience required. Sales experience required. Insurance experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications A current TN Property and Casualty License preferred. Must obtain license within 90 days of hire if not currently licensed. Continued education is also required.
- Must possess the ability to clearly communicate with customers, peers and superiors.
- Proven ability to have initiative, good judgement, and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Must have strong computer skills with ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken.
- Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.
- Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Good sense of urgency and follow up.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to make complex decisions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Will be constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Will be communicating via phone, Teams, and Zoom.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
- Must be able to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
- Will constantly work in a state-of-the-art indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
