Summary
Responsible for the Process Engineering team, overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of drilling equipment manufacturing, overhaul, and repair processes. Proposed enhancements to products, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The Process Engineering team plays a crucial role in advancing continuous improvement initiatives across workshop processes.
Job Responsibilities
Take personal accountability for HSSE.
Develop and assess process maps for the production of equipment and materials, outlining the primary manufacturing steps along with the human and physical resources required.
Specify how tasks will be carried out by the workshop team.
Create and evaluate procedures, work instructions, templates, and repair scopes.
Examine nonconformities in equipment and associated processes to ensure thorough root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Perform internal audits and assist with supplier development when necessary.
Recommend and support technical solutions aimed at reducing costs and/or processing time, through initiatives that enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
Generate workshop routines in the ERP system, providing estimates for hours, resources, tools, and fixtures required for each activity.
Organize and prioritize personal workload to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, according to the priorities set by the manager.
Oversee the Process Engineering team, including training, competency matrix, people development plans, departmental budget, and cost management.
Accountable for all facets of production operations, including safety, scheduling, quality control, and team development in designated manufacturing areas.
Facilitate training, process planning, assess operating methods, choose controls, and specify tools, fixtures, and gauges.
Responsible for creating manufacturing budgets and quotes to support the ITO/Sales team and participating in design reviews for production feasibility.
Identify safe manufacturing processes that yield high-quality products using the most efficient manufacturing methods.
Support Supervisors and production employees in addressing manufacturing process challenges.
Pursue ongoing improvements in quality and cost reductions within the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical (Materials) engineering.
Experience: Over 8 years of experience in a Manufacturing/Industrial and/or Services engineering position.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in English
Familiarity with Oil & Gas standards.
Experience with manufacturing processes, including disassembly, welding, painting, non-destructive testing (NDT), post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), pressure testing, and assembly.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate various projects simultaneously.
Strong background in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with extensive knowledge and certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Understanding of ISOs, API´s, NACE, and quality procedures.
Proficient in analytical thinking, with solid skills in problem identification and resolution.
Collaborative team member with a proven track record of enhancing processes on the shop floor through a hands-on approach.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with product engineering regarding non-conformances to develop recovery plans and implement long-term solutions for manufacturing capability gaps.
Six Sigma training is preferred.
Proficiency in using SAP 4/Hana (ERP Systems) is a plus.
