Production Supervisor

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland.  With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook.  Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day.  We are a hands-on team who all work together to meet our objectives.  No job or day is the same with us, and we never miss an opportunity to share, learn and improve.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mining Supervisor to join our dynamic and successful team.  As a valued member of the Mining team and reporting directly to the Mining Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

• Providing direct supervision of employees and contractors working within the area of responsibility and allocating day-to-day work priorities;

• Clearly communicating and articulating expectations;

• Developing and maintaining a cohesive team through consistent visible leadership;

• Promoting continuous improvement by challenging work practices and encouraging employee participation in new concepts;

• Driving consistent and fair accountability across in line with Rolleston’s SHMS;

• Engagement with Technical Services and Maintenance teams to make sure plans are accurate;

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Appropriate supervisory experience for the role;

• Standout leadership capabilities that will allow you to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of our business;

• Have an extremely high drive to learn and grow your skills to be the best version of yourself;

• Obtain an understanding of a SHMS;

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills that will allow you to positively influence our culture at Rolleston;

• Ability to maintain a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values;

• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;

• Be open to change crews.
