As our Maintenance Engineer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of infrastructure delivery. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.
Day-to-day, you will:
Manage and engage with external consultants for audits, monitoring, testing, and assurance activities
Conduct engineering investigations and sign off on maintenance works and recommendations
Monitor system performance and implement proactive condition assessments
Provide input to root cause analyses and drive system improvement opportunities
Oversee documentation, including technical manuals and engineering records
Provide technical approval for capex and major maintenance handovers

Deliver technical assurance activities across contracted maintenance providers
Maintain Asset Management Plans and contribute to Forward Works Programs
Review IR&M contractor job plans and ensure alignment with concession requirements
Lead engineering risk management and promote safety-first culture
Engage across Transurban’s engineering and strategy teams to embed best practice
Attend night-time maintenance shuts as required
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
A degree in Engineering or relevant trade qualification, with 5+ years’ experience in road or utilities environments
Strong engineering management background in complex maintenance settings
High-level understanding of HSE and asset risk principles in a contracted environment
Advanced stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence outcomes
Clear written and verbal communication with technical and strategic acumen
Familiarity with civil, mechanical, or electrical infrastructure and major project environments
Postgraduate engineering qualifications will be highly regarded
