We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Process Engineer. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.
About the position
As a Process Engineer of the Sparta team, you will be involved in developing and implementing molding and manufacturing process solutions to improve production equipment and operations. As well as supporting continuous improvement through research, design, and optimization of rotational molding processes to enhance product quality, delivery timelines, and cost-efficiency.
Your main responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert on all aspects of the rotational molding process.
- Develop and optimize molding parameters to ensure consistent product quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, tooling, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Specify and support the procurement, installation, and maintenance of rotational molding equipment and tooling.
- Analyze and troubleshoot process issues and lead root-cause investigations for defects or inefficiencies.
- Evaluate and implement new materials, additives, and process technologies.
- Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to operators and junior engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cycle times, scrap rates, and energy usage.

A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and engineering as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in rotational molding processes, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of process optimization and successful project execution.
- Strong understanding of polymer behavior, mold design, heating/cooling cycles, and material flow characteristics.
- Experience with process simulation, DOE (Design of Experiments), and statistical process control.
- Familiarity with safety, regulatory, and quality standards related to plastics processing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience with specialized materials (e.g., cross-linked polyethylene, bioplastics).
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM tools and 3D printing for prototyping.
- Familiarity with automation and controls for rotational molding equipment.
