Interrelations

The position reports to the Dispatch Supervisor.

Formal authorities

The position has the authority to act within this Functional Description and within the chart of authority as outlined in the company’s Global Integrated Management System (GIMS) and as approved by WSS management.

Main responsibilities

• Update all ETA’s through consistent monitoring with agents
• Schedule drivers
• Monitor the efficiency of the dispatch operations and driver utilization
• Ensure that transport is done in an efficient and cost effective way in line with demand
• Ensure compliance to all rules and regulations
• Responsible for correct document flow, reporting and tracking
• Report and take action to ensure professional and timely deliveries
• Keep delivery trucks maintained to appropriate standards, rules and regulations, including placard, certificates, etc.

• Accountable for timely dispatch of orders
• Accountable for process compliance

• Responsiveness within globally set timelines
• Ensure timely dispatch at lowest possible cost

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements

• Ability to communicate on all levels
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiatives
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Good knowledge of and experience within worldwide transportation methods and requirements
• Good knowledge of Dangerous Goods transportation regulations in all transport modes
• In depth familiarity and knowledge of transportation rules and regulations
• Ability to work outside normal business working hours

• Dangerous Good Certification
• Maritime experience
• Systematic, organized and accurate
• Good knowledge of products carried
• Valid Driving Certification
