Our Sample Management Solutions team is seeking a new addition to our team to serve as a Field Service Engineer, located in Sweden.

How You’ll Add Value…

A Field Service Engineer performs basic and routine customer support activities including installation, upgrades, repairs and preventative maintenance of Azenta´s equipment and devices at customer sites. You will be responsible for resolving customer issues at each customer location/geography using necessary discretion and good judgment.

You will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies, especially in low temperature environments, such as automated storage systems, transport robots, etc. Additionally, you will be responsible for a wide range of industrial and life science equipment, from automation equipment and consumables, liquid nitrogen storage systems, ultra-low temperature freezers, and dehumidification systems.

What You’ll Do…

  • Support customer operations and ensure fulfillment of contractual service agreements.

  • Perform maintenance on equipment and systems, including software and hardware installation, upgrades, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

  • Work will include both on-site activities at customer locations and remote activities.

  • Analyze problems, investigate and report root causes/corrective actions, and monitor system performance.

  • Provide operational support for customer-managed samples (e.g., support for initial sample loading and start-up of operations from non-automated to automated equipment).

  • Communicate and collaborate with global teams in handling tasks.

  • Prepare and submit reports, such as service reports and status reports, for all tasks.

  • Respond flexibly to changes in priority, such as emergency response to equipment or production line stoppages, and escalations.

  • Supports organizational and administrative tasks.

What You´ll bring…

Your skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Practical experience in maintenance service or design of electrical equipment and machinery/automation equipment. Experience in electricity and automation is highly valued.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety and countermeasures.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (TOEIC score of 600 or higher is preferred).

  • Ability to identify root causes of equipment downtime using structured and comprehensive processes, and to perform tasks using systematic troubleshooting skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Proficient in using PCs and Windows/DOS-based operating systems.

  • Ability to travel frequently domestically and internationally, including on short notice.

  • Willing to respond to on-call emergency troubleshooting and work on holidays and weekends occasionally.

Your personal strengths

  • Ability to independently handle problems and implement corrective actions.

  • Ability to think independently and prioritize issues related to business needs.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and can interact effectively with customers and coworkers.

Preferred

  • Experience in maintenance service or design of refrigeration equipment is a plus.

  • Experience with Oracle is highly preferred.

  • Preferably you live in the southern part of Sweden.
