Network Operations Manager, North Asia and SEAA

Job Purpose:

The Network Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and governance the network infrastructure of our Asia-Pacific (APAC) region during implementation, configuration, maintenance, and operation. This position will require a deep understanding of network design, architecture, and security protocols, as well as experience with Cloud computing platforms and next-generation network technologies. The Network Operations Manager will work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems with other business applications and systems across the APAC region.

To ensure success as a Network Operations Manager in a challenging environment, you should demonstrate proven knowledge in networking technology and securing IT infrastructure. Your responsibility includes but is not limited to – govern and mange security of network infrastructure to support new applications/services/modernizations and formulating technical action plans for analyzing and resolving problems related to networking.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical expertise

• Possess a deep understanding of network design, architecture, and security protocols
• Familiar with a range of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
• Continuously monitor the performance of the network, identifying any bottlenecks or issues, and taking appropriate corrective actions to ensure optimal performance
• Implement and enforce appropriate policies and procedures to maintain the security of the network and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, tampering, or theft.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization can quickly recover from any network-related failures or outages.
• Ability to work with external vendors on certain commercial matters, such as billing accuracy.
• Strong skills in managing several parties at once for project works, such as new site deployments.

Problem-solving skills

• Quickly diagnose and resolve any network-related issues, minimizing downtime and disruption to the business
• Have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Network maintenance and capacity management

• Schedule and perform regular network maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure the stability and longevity of the system
• Ensure adequate network capacity to meet current and future business needs, including the ability to scale up during peak periods or as the organization grows

Collaboration and communication

• Collaborate effectively with other departments, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates on network performance, projects, and issues.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and contractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of products and services
• Attention to detail and ability to guide others to follow standards and best practices.

Academic / Professional Qualifications:

MANDATORY

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Certifications in Networking
• Certifications in Cloud

PREFERRED

• Certifications in CCNP (Data Center or Enterprise) and CCIE is strong advantages
• Certifications in Azure (AZ-700), AliCloud (ACA) is strong advantages

Work Experience :

• 7+ years of experience in network management, preferably in a luxury retail industry in the APAC region networks and Internet infrastructures
• Strong knowledge of Cloud computing platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Expertise in network design and architecture, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and Cloud services, across the APAC region
• Knowledge of network security protocols and procedures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption, across the APAC region
• Familiarity with next-generation network technologies, such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Network Automation
• Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Proven ability to develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup procedures across the APAC region
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cultures and languages
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Functional/Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP
• Technical knowledge in VPN gateways, intrusion detection/protection systems, wireless controllers, access points, routers, switches, proxies, firewalls, load balancers
• Strong understanding and exposure to cloud standards, architectures and models, with specialty in cybersecurity
• Ability to design and implement network architectures that are scalable, efficient, and secure
• Familiar with  various network management tools, such as network monitoring software, configuration management software, and network performance analysis tools
