Position Title: Patient Access Representative – Urology Department
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Location: Methodist Professional Center I & II
Weekends/Holidays: None
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative plays a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This position is responsible for gathering and verifying financial and demographic information to support accurate records, optimal reimbursement, and positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule appointments and interview patients for medical and insurance information
Explain departmental and hospital charges and policies
Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems
Collect necessary payments
Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
Experience in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10, CPT)
Ability to interpret insurance information
Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
