Work location: Stafford, TX

Scope:  

Production planners will develop and manage production schedules and coordinate with different departments to ensure production targets a delivery deadlines are effectively met.

Job Summary:

Develop and implement production plan from forecast and sales demand to meet requirements of our customers.

1. Develop production schedule and manufacturing plan consistent with finished product demand, resource availability and inventory level objectives.
2. Schedule the production of materials to meet the inventory requirements of the business.
3. Review MRP and generate or release work orders to meet demand requirements and inventory plan.
4. Identify and act on exceptions to demand or production schedule.
5. Provide information to and coordinate with Buyers to aid in the scheduling of raw materials and components.
6. Maintain open communication with Production Management and Operations Management to ensure manufacturing and inventory plans are clearly understood and fulfilled.
7. Maintain accurate records and documentation for history and audit purposes.
8. Prepare and publish quarterly, monthly and/or weekly schedules as directed by management.
9. Maintain updated procedures in support of Business System requirements.
10. Work closely with the Global planning team to review and update safety stock levels.
11. Ensure there is adequate inventory coverage in all distribution centers.
12. Participate in the site S&OP process review.
13.  Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

Travel: 5% or less

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
2. Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting situations under stress.
3. Strong problem solving, team building and decision-making skills.
4. Strong proficiency in MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
5. APICS Certification preferred.

Work Environment:

• Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
• Visits to production floor and material warehouse

Experience:

1. Three to five years materials/logistics experience.

Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or related field.
