Full Time

Participation in integrated preventive-curative medical care programs.  Performs the professional duties of an ophthalmologist. 

  1. Ensures that Ophthalmological care rendered meets Joint Commission standards. 

 

  1. Monitors within established guidelines the quality of care provided. Participates in review/study of difficult and special cases. 

 

  1. Monitors the eye care rendered on a daily basis to ensure that Joint Commission standards are met.

 

  1. Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of ophthalmology.

 

  1. Participates in weekly rounds and peer reviews.

 

  1. Coordinates with the HOD in planning programs, integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.

 

  1. Participates in the implementation of approved curative/preventive programs as they relate to Ophthalmology.

 

  1. Participates in QA programs as requested by the Medical Director.

 

  1. Orients new staff when requested to do so.

 

  1. Communicates regularly with HOD and other members of the service.

 

  1. Takes an active role in teaching activities provided for nursing & ancillary staff.

 

  1. Participates on committees as requested by the Medical Director.
  1. Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.

 

  1. Three years residency in Ophthalmology culminating in procuring a Post-Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.

 

  1. Three or more year’s exclusive practice of ophthalmology since certification.

 

  1. Must have DOH License to practice.

 

  1. English is required to prepare documentation and it is used as the common language to communicate with different nationalities. Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.

 

  1. Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics
