This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:
  • Contract: Independent Contractor
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM UK Time with an hour of unpaid lunch break (8 hours per day /40 hours per week)

Role Summary:

 

To proactively identify, qualify, and progress new business opportunities to ensure a healthy project pipeline for Rotec. This role focuses on maximising the value of the lead bank by researching planning information, engaging relevant contacts, and collaborating closely with the wider sales team to ensure all viable projects are captured and handed over effectively

 


Responsibilities:

 

Lead Identification & Qualification

  • Work through the existing lead bank to assess and qualify projects.
  • Review planning documents, drawings, and elevations to determine suitability.
  • Proactively contact stakeholders linked to each lead for additional project insight.

 

Pipeline Management

  • Add new leads and update existing ones in the correct pipeline stages in the CRM - Pipedrive.
  • Ensure all data is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
  • Maintain overall data cleanliness and integrity within the CRM- Pipedrive.

 

Market Research & Analysis

  • Cross-examine Barbour ABI reports against manual searches to spot missed opportunities.
  • Search social media channels and online platforms for potential new leads.

 

Collaboration & Handover

  • Qualify and hand over projects that meet Rotec’s criteria to Business Development Managers (BDMs).
  • Make networking calls with sales teams from Tier 1 contractors and developers to ensure all relevant UK projects are captured.

 

Team Communication

  • Participate in daily huddles to share progress, insights, and priorities with the wider team.

 

Construction Industry Expertise:

  • Understand key players, processes, and stages of construction projects to assess relevance for Rotec.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of trends within the construction sector to identify high-value opportunities.

 

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, feedback, and action plans within CRM – Pipedrive
  • Report regularly on the status of opportunities.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player who builds strong internal and external relationships.
  • Commercially aware, with a good grasp of how client decisions impact business outcomes.

 

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction projects, tendering processes, site operations, and industry dynamics.
  • Fluent spoken English with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using online research tools, social media, and standard MS Office applications
  • Comfortable making proactive calls to contractors, developers, and industry contacts to uncover project opportunities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
