Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Sr. Instructor/Assistant Professor as a clinician subspecialist within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Enhancing subspecialty care is a major strategic priority for the Department. We are seeking an outstanding subspecialty/fellowship trained clinician in neuro-ophthalmology.

The successful candidate will provide expertise in the management of neuro-ophthalmology conditions. There is a strong desire to develop an outstanding program within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences which collaborates actively with colleagues in Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology. The Neuro-ophthalmologist will have access to advanced diagnostic testing including microperimetry, high resolution OCT, VEP as well as support from Orthoptists, Technicians, Technologists, and Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities:

You will hold the status of an independent consultant and will dedicate a portion of your time to teaching and mentoring learners, including undergraduate medical education (UGME), postgraduate medical education (PGME), and fellows, as appropriate. In addition, you are expected to contribute to Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, support allied health training, and engage in research within the field of neuro-ophthalmology.

Requirements:

You should have:

• completed postgraduate training and FCPS, FRCOphth, American Board or equivalent with subsequent clinical and teaching experience
• subspecialist fellowship in neuro-ophthalmlogy from a reputable training centre/system.
• registered or be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP)
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• professional conduct that fosters a high-performance team culture
• minimum of three years of relevant experience for appointment at the Assistant Professor level
