The Risk and Assurance Division, within the Vice -President Operations Portfolio and led by the Chief Risk and Assurance Officer (CRAO), works closely with key stakeholders to ensure UOW manages and mitigates risk effectively in order to achieve strategic goals. The CRAO is responsible for UOW’s risk and assurance strategy assisting UOW’s leadership group and managers across the organisation to better understand and manage risk and compliance, plan for business threats and to improve both strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation. Risk Governance oversight is provided by the Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee (RACC) and the University Council.

The Risk and Assurance Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the University’s Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management Frameworks. This role provides expert advice and coordination to enhance risk awareness, resilience and compliance across the University.
