Join CFA Institute as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist (formal job title is Associate Manager, Regulatory Reporting, China) in our Beijing office. This is a newly created hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote) that blends regulatory reporting, data coordination, and government engagement support—all critical to CFA Institute’s growing presence and compliance obligations in China.
What You’ll Do
Oversee end-to-end preparation and submission of annual reports, financial statements, audit documents, and other filings
Serve as the lead administrator, managing documentation, submission appointments, and approvals
Draft formal communications and explanation letters to regulators using appropriate government language
Ensure accurate, timely regulatory data reporting for the CFA Program, collaborating with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and our Chinese partner
Coordinate with IT and Education teams to deliver compliant data submissions across four annual exam cycles
Support government engagement efforts including meeting preparation, logistics, briefing materials, and follow-ups
Act as liaison for government queries and educate internal stakeholders on regulatory filing requirements
Project manage the annual regulatory body review process and drive operational excellence in reporting standards
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in regulatory reporting, government affairs, or compliance roles—ideally in an international or regulatory-facing organisation
Fluent in both Mandarin and English, with proven ability to draft and translate professional documentation and correspondence in both languages
Experience liaising with government entities and managing sensitive or confidential communications with professionalism and discretion
Strong interpersonal and communication skills—able to build trusted relationships and collaborate across teams and time zones
A team player with emotional intelligence, a proactive attitude, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving processes
High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills
Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and confident in working with data tools, portals, or submission platforms
Prior project coordination or cross-functional reporting experience

At CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position: Expected salary range: CNY 320,000 - 380,000 per year.
All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 5% employer contribution to a pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
