We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled cloud developer to join our innovative cloud engineering team at Ally Financial. This role will contribute to the development and maintenance of our custom-built, full stack serverless application deployed on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cloud technologies, full-stack development skills, DevSecOps and a passion for learning and applying new skills in a dynamic enterprise environment.

The Work Itself

  • Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions using AWS services, with a focus on serverless architectures.
  • Build and improve RESTful APIs using AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda & ECS.
  • Contribute to front-end development using JavaScript frameworks for our custom cloud management portal.
  • Assist in the implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • Participate in the coding, testing, and debugging of both back-end and front-end components.
  • Help maintain and optimize existing cloud resources and applications.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining cloud security best practices.
  • Contribute to the automation of cloud operations via CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
  • Collaborate with team members on code reviews and troubleshooting.
  • Support cloud cost optimization efforts through monitoring and analysis.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest cloud and web development technologies and best practices.

The Skills You Bring

  • Preferable Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or relevant entry-level cloud certifications.
  • 0-2 years of experience in cloud computing and full-stack development.
  • Strong foundation in computer science principles and software development.
  • Hands-on experience in Python for back-end development.
  • Experience with front-end development using JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, or React.
  • Basic understanding of AWS services including one or more of Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS, and Event Bridge.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD Pipelines (preferably GitLab).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Base Pay Range: $65000 - $115000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.  Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
