Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Manager to oversee and manage the organization's infrastructure strategy, operations, and team. This role demands a hands-on leader with expertise in people management, resource planning, DevOps practices, and infrastructure security. The ideal candidate will be an expert in AWS and Kubernetes, with a deep understanding of disaster recovery, security best practices, and cloud best practices. As the Infrastructure Manager, you will own the infrastructure strategy, lead a team of engineers, and collaborate closely with the security team to ensure robust and scalable infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Strategy Ownership:
- Develop and execute the infrastructure strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and growth plans.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the company's infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
2. Leadership and Team Management:
- Manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring the team is aligned with business objectives and best practices.
- Drive a hands-on approach to problem-solving and ensure the team is well-equipped to deliver quality infrastructure solutions.
3. DevOps and Automation:
- Champion the adoption of DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, and coach team members on best practices.
- Streamline and automate infrastructure processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
4. Cloud Infrastructure (AWS & Kubernetes):
- Own and manage the organization's AWS infrastructure, ensuring it is optimized for cost, performance, and security.
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are highly available, scalable, and secure.
- Provide expert-level guidance on best practices for cloud infrastructure and containerized environments.
5. Security and Disaster Recovery:
- Collaborate with the security team to design and implement robust infrastructure security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Own and manage disaster recovery plans, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery in the event of infrastructure failure.
- Stay ahead of security trends, proactively addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring the infrastructure is resilient to threats.
6. Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure all infrastructure processes, plans, and strategies are well-documented and up to date.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions are in line with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, engineering, product management, and leadership, to align infrastructure needs with business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across teams, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure management, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex infrastructure environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes at an expert level.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure security, disaster recovery, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in a DevOps-driven environment with a focus on automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies.
- 2 years of experience as a team lead/manager.
Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
- Expertise in Kubernetes, including cluster management, security, scaling, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security protocols, threat mitigation, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and management tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex infrastructure concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
