We are looking for a passionate and technically strong Lead Backend Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong backend fundamentals with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Microservices architecture. You will be leading by example—coding, mentoring team members, and driving architectural decisions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and secure backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
Architect and implement microservices that are modular, fault-tolerant, and cloud-native.
Deploy and manage containerized services using Kubernetes in a production-grade environment.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to define and deliver backend solutions that meet business goals.
Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
Guide and mentor junior developers, conducting technical reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Monitor system health, diagnose performance issues, and optimize backend services.
Keep up with the latest trends in backend development, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies.

Key Requirements:

3 to 5 years of strong hands-on experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
Solid understanding and practical experience with Microservices architecture, including service discovery, API gateways, load balancing, and inter-service communication.
Experience working with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, scalability challenges, and asynchronous communication.
Good grasp of software design principles, system architecture, and object-oriented programming concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills and a product mindset.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack is desirable.
