JOB PURPOSE
The Finance Officer is responsible for overall performance management reporting of the Bank and reports directly to the CFO. He /She should ensure the right process and framework are in place to drive performance management towards attainment of set objectives/targets set by the Group and local Board. The position is also responsible for coordinating and overseeing the preparation of the Affiliate’s budget process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of monthly performance Reports (MPR) and mid-month performance reports by SBU and sub SBU by the 10th following month-end and 20th of current month (for mid-month performances)
- Preparation of Branch and product performance Reports by the 10th working day following month-end.
- Serve as Business Partner for Commercial banking or any other business assigned and support the business heads to attain their budget and other KPIs.
- Co-ordinate the Affiliate’s budget process and ensure accurate, timely and overall qualitative Budgets are submitted to the Group Office.
- Ensure full compliance with the Tax laws and prepare timely and accurate submission of all tax liabilities due to the Tax Authorities.
- Keep up to date intercompany reconciliations and coordinate with Treasury for the timely sourcing and payment of intercompany payables and follow up timely payment of amount due from other Affiliates
- Conduct regular Industry peer analysis/benchmarking and highlight key areas for management’s focus.
- Prepare monthly expense variance Report and highlight areas budget consumption are close or are being exceeded for redress.
- Regular update and maintenance of MIS data in system for accurate performance management reporting
- Budgetary control by putting measures in place that warrant cost control and adequate revenue generation.
- Daily update of the FTP template and appropriately advise businesses with regards to their balance sheet trends.
- Create and advise Business and Branch heads on their daily/weekly revenue trends.
- Prepare Weekly Deposit & Loan reports to the cluster office
- Maintain and update the Fixed Assets and Prepayments Registers adequately.
- Prepare Monthly Branch and other performance Reports
- Initiate and implement automation of current processes to drive productivity and efficiency
- Support respective units in their financial requests
- At least 2-5 years working experience in a finance role .
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem solving and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- High level of integrity and dependability
- Experience in high level relationship building and maintenance
- Make and implement crucial recommendations
- Good organizational and time management skills are highly desirable;
- Strong networks within the corporate market
Education
- Minimum qualification: ACCA, Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, or CAT.
- Candidates holding ACCA qualifications will be given priority consideration.
- Professional membership and active ACCA status are highly desirable.
