JOB SUMMARY

The Benefits Platform Specialist supports North Risk Partners’ internal Employee Benefits team by managing and optimizing client-facing technology. This role is essential in building and maintaining client portals for both new and existing clients. Key responsibilities include facilitating critical processes such as open enrollment and policy renewals, resolving portal-related issues, and implementing effective solutions. The specialist also collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to tailor services to each client’s unique needs, contributing to overall client satisfaction and operational excellence.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Support North Risk's internal Employee Benefits team for existing and future client benefit platform enrollments, including but not limited to:  
    • Building client portals for new group clients 
    • Updating and maintaining forms for compliance and consistency
    • Updating and maintaining rates for the portal quoting tool
    • Initiating and updating client information based on renewal data 
    • Processing updates and client change requests 
    • Initiating and updating data integration feeds to carrier and vendor partners
  • Maintain regular communication with platform contacts and clients to ensure data accuracy 
  • Encourage and help facilitate EDI data feed connections amongst carriers and clients
  • Assist in solutions to create efficiencies for internal users and clients (i.e. recognition of coinciding language)
  • Train internal Employee Benefits team members on the platform basics for backup and assistance in client enrollments, changes, or building client portals as needed 
  • Train new clients through platforms and programs 
  • Create tutorials or how-to guides for quick and easy assistance for all users
  • Be an additional resource for value-added services

Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, bachelor’s degree, and 4 years of experience in the insurance industry within Employee Benefits 
  • 2 years of experience with benefit platforms, such as Ease or Employee Navigator, or related similar systems experience 
  • Previous insurance marketing and/or insurance customer service experience preferred 
  • Working knowledge of standard technology, including core Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate it effectively to the end user 
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in responding to evolving priorities and challenges

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently
  • Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
  • Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
  • Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights, and weekends to attend events and meetings as needed

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED 

Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily indoors. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $52,000 - $68,000 annually, plus benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
