About the Role
We are seeking a Community Researcher to support an ARC Linkage project focused on social prescribing across the Onkaparinga and Marion Local Government Areas.
This role involves working closely with the research team and community stakeholders to co-design, implement, and evaluate strategies that connect individuals with social and community services to improve wellbeing.
The Community Researcher will engage with local health, social, and community sectors to identify existing services, potential overlaps, and gaps. Responsibilities include mapping service databases, organising community assets, and maintaining professional engagement with research participants and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping a more connected and responsive service system that addresses non-medical needs through community-based support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about community engagement and social impact.

Your strong communication abilities—both written and verbal—enable you to engage effectively with a range of audiences. You’re organised, with well-developed time management skills that help you juggle multiple tasks with ease. Experience working within Local Government areas is highly regarded, along with skills in maintaining webpages or databases and coordinating events or functions. You’re proactive, adaptable, and committed to fostering positive community outcomes through meaningful engagement and collaboration.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment
A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which is satisfactory to the University will also be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working with Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
Staff working in a health care setting are strongly recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the SA Health policy.
