Senior Commercial Analyst (Parental Leave Cover)

We're looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to play a key role in shaping pricing strategies and supporting strategic projects across the Optus Wholesale (OWS) fixed and mobile product portfolio. This role will provide critical commercial input into customer pricing initiatives and product development, with a strong focus on driving sustainable and profitable growth.

 

Working closely with senior management, sales, marketing, and customers, the Senior Commercial Analyst will develop tailored pricing structures that align with customer needs while meeting OWS’s financial and strategic objectives. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of customer business models, market positioning, and strategic fit within OWS, enabling the development of commercially sound proposals for leadership decision-making.

 

Please note this is a Parental Leave Cover of up to 12 months. 

 

What you'll be doing:

• Evaluate strategic projects and product developments through detailed financial modelling and business case analysis.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop and present commercially sound pricing strategies and customer proposals.
• Conduct pricing assessments for allocated products and evaluate customer portfolio performance to support target delivery.
• Provide commercial insights to inform the development of pricing initiatives aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial to support strategic outcomes.
• Contribute to fixed and mobile strategic initiatives, support customer experience goals, and ensure compliance with OH&S requirements.

 

What makes you perfect for the role?

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Engineering, or Commerce with 3–5 years’ experience in a commercial role, including financial modelling and business case development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to evaluate complex data and provide commercial insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence in presenting to and influencing all levels of management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and work independently or within cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel, with strong IT literacy to support analytical and reporting tasks.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong initiative, time management skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
