The Department of Economics invites applications to fill one (1) replacement professor position, to begin September 1, 2025. All candidates with a PhD in economics will be considered, but priority will be given to candidates with experience teaching statistics and applied data analysis.

Title of the position: Replacement Professor

Duties:

  • Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Participating in academic and administrative activities
  • Other activities as specified in the collective agreement

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Ph.D. in economics. Candidates who are close to completing a Ph.D. could be considered
  • Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching and research

Bilingualism:

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution. Active bilingualism (English-French) is an advantage at the time of hiring.

Terms and salary:

The three-year contract will begin on September 1, 2025, and end August 31, 2028, and is non-renewable.

The salary scale for replacement professors starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).
