Adjunct english as a second language course to a 3-unit discipline-specific course (ECO 1102), taken in English by non-native speakers of English. Emphasis on development of comprehension skills (listening and reading) while acquiring knowledge and expertise in the discipline. Examination questions in the discipline-specific course may be answered in either English or French; however, all tests and assignments in the language class must be done in English.It is required that the ESL Professor attend the following discipline-specific course in addition to the language course:
ECO 1102 D00
Tuesday 4:00pm-5:20pm and Thursday 2:30pm-3:50pm
Note: Students may be enroled in sections B00 C00, D00, E00 or F00 of the ECO 1102 course.

Master’s degree in teaching English as a second language, or a discipline relevant to English as a second language teaching. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the university level, or equivalent. Familiarity with software and technologies relevant to teach English as a second language. Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the resume. A professor who has taught an FLS / ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018 is considered to meet the diploma requirement.

Schedule: Tuesday 4:00pm-5:20pm and Thursday 2:30pm-3:50pmAn acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
