The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.  

About the role: 

As Senior Case Worker, this is your opportunity to be the backbone of our daily service delivery—overseeing case management, guiding treatment plans, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Your leadership will empower the team, ensure clients feel supported and valued, and help drive meaningful progress in every recovery journey.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary is based on the SCHADS Award, Level 5. 

 

How you will make an impact  

  • Participate in promotion of the service via conducting presentations to local services

  • Strong referral pathways are built and maintained with internal and external stakeholders, 
    resulting in beneficial outcomes for participants.

  • Attend sector and local area network meetings as required

  • Deliver compassionate, person-centered care through assessments, group work, education, and referrals.

  • Lead daily service delivery, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Develop and monitor individual treatment plans that support each client’s recovery journey.

  • Mentor and supervise case workers to build a strong, supportive team.

  • Build partnerships with other services to ensure holistic, wraparound support for clients.

What you will bring 

  • Minimum diploma level qualification in AOD, community services or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, 
    service, and study/development
  • Relevant experience in supervising staff preferred
  • A current NSW Driver’s License
