As part of the Stryker Endoscopy R&D organization, you will be responsible for the research and hardware design for some of the Endoscopy division’s most innovative and impactful products. Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a dynamic up-and-coming engineer to own design changes, support quality investigations, and lead improvement initiatives. What You Will Do
- Lead Design Sustaining Efforts: Drive electrical design changes across a broad portfolio of Endoscopy products to address supply chain issues, quality improvements, and cost optimization.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve complex product and process design challenges using sound engineering judgment and industry best practices.
- Design Execution & Testing: Modify electrical components, subsystems, and systems while ensuring changes align with design inputs and are thoroughly tested for compliance.
- Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration: Partner with vendors and internal teams to support design updates, maintain product reliability, and ensure alignment with clinical use and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Adhere to industry standards and R&D procedures, including design controls, risk management, and documentation such as Design History Files.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner effectively with teams across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to drive project outcomes.
- Tackle Complex Challenges: Apply advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate Ownership & Influence: Take initiative, prioritize effectively, and build strong working relationships to influence outcomes and support team success.
What You Need
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- 4+ years of work experience
- Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical components, design processes, and relevant manufacturing methods
- Capable of interpreting, analyzing, and validating electrical designs using statistical methods and analysis tools.
- Understands system components, lifecycle stages, and how design decisions impact overall system performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Regulated Industry Experience: Prior experience designing products in FDA-regulated or similarly controlled industries is highly preferred.
- Video Signal Expertise: Familiarity with high-speed video standards such as HDMI and 3G-SDI.
- Hands-On Testing Skills: Proficient in using electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, analyzers, and environmental chambers for design validation.
