The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14-room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what ‘living well’ means to them. Our House is excited to announce that we are hiring a skilled and team-oriented Recovery Case Worker. The Recovery Case Worker is part of NHCP (Neighborhood Housing + Care Program) Team. NHCP clients may experience a wide range of challenges to their recovery including HIV/AIDS, a history of substance use, and mental health issues. Peer Recovery Mentors will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals to promote recovery, maintenance, wellness, and establish healthy life choices and practices by performing the essential duties.
This is a Full-Time role working at Our House of Portland located in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm/ Hybrid 3 days in office.
Starting pay is $27.61 an hour which is equivalent to just over $57,400.00 a year. The Recovery Case Worker’s pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $31.46. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.
Who You Are
- GED or High school equivalent
- CRM (Certified Recovery Mentor) or ability to obtain in six months. Two years of recovery required at time of certification.
- Must be able to pass a DHS background check.
- Current unrestricted Oregon or Washington Drivers License
- Ability to be insured under employers’ insurance.
- Strong communication skills, warmth, and humor. Willingness to work with people with physical and emotional health challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Transport clients with company vehicles to and from doctor appointments, recovery meetings, grocery shopping as applicable to their goals.
- Provide recovery education to individuals for every different phase of the recovery journey from pre-engagement to stabilization, followed by sustained recovery and maintenance
- Provide a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
- Assist individuals in developing their own plan for defining and advancing their recovery path.
- Promote self-advocacy by assisting individuals in expressing their own needs, goals, and objectives.
- Actively identify and support linkages to community resources.
