Director of Technology

Job Summary

The Executive Director of Information Technology will develop, plan, and implement a technology strategy that meets Gateway Church's business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security. Ensures the overall stability of the church’s IT infrastructure. Provides creative and scalable technology implementation strategies for the organization. Casts vision for the department in line with Gateway Church’s Vision.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees all Technology areas at Gateway Church, including Digital Products, Development, IT Support, Network & Security, and Data & Analytics.
• Sets the strategic direction for Gateway’s information systems and executes it in partnership with executive leadership.
• Manages enterprise technology contracts and leads negotiations to secure favorable terms for the church.
• Collaborates regularly with campuses and departments to assess current technology usage and evolving needs.
• Communicates department goals, key projects, and timelines; develops execution plans to ensure successful delivery.
• Remains informed on industry trends, technologies, and security threats relevant to Gateway’s technology areas.
• Works closely with the executive team to align technology initiatives with Gateway Church's mission and vision.
• Provides pastoral-minded leadership to the Technology department, modeling humility and service to staff and congregation.
• Identifies and recommends new technologies that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations. Evaluates the costs and benefits to the organization.
• Ensures Gateway’s IT and network infrastructure reliably support computing, communication, and data needs.
• Develops and manages the Technology budget, aligning financial planning with strategic priorities.
• Plans for long-term Information Systems needs and strategies for acquiring and maintaining necessary systems.
• Ensures systems and operations remain compliant with applicable government regulations.
• Develops and equips leaders across each area of technology oversight.
• Delivers timely and constructive performance evaluations for direct reports.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors required, Masters preferred
• Certifications are a plus
• Experience: 5 years minimum professional experience
• 2 years of management experience
