Areas of focus are: establishing RNA sequencing for on and off target evaluation of oligos, as well as amplicon sequencing and long read seq. The candidate will build a team to support both project screening and exploratory biology efforts and serve as the sequencing expert for the team. Oligo modalities for evaluation include ASO, siRNA, SSO and RNA editing oligos.
Key Responsibilities
Establish NGS/RNA sequencing capabilities for oligos from the ground up, including team hire/build, instrument and assay set up and validation and associated workflows
Identify and develop robust and reproducible sequencing assays to support portfolio and platform projects including RNA sequencing for on and off target evaluation (short and long read) and amplicon seq at 96/384 well scale
Recruit, manage and develop a small team of scientists (1-3) to enable successful delivery of project and platform goals
Oversee the design, execution and troubleshooting of experiments including the analysis and presentation of data across groups
Continually optimize and validate new biological assays to drive identification and characterization of superior oligonucleotide therapeutics at GSK
