Job Description Summary

With offices across major UK cities, we advise private and public sector clients, offering agency services, viability assessments, market research, and development consultancy. Collaborating closely with our commercial, planning, and agency teams, we play a key role in shaping major mixed-use developments and form a core part of the broader Living platform alongside Student and Residential Capital Markets.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter with an appetite to learn. You will be working alongside experienced professionals and have exposure to a broad range of projects. Previous experience in a living development consultancy or agency role is preferable.

 

Role Profile:

  • To provide excellent professional advice and service to clients in support of instructions managed by Partners
  • Opportunity to have hands on client exposure with oversight from Partners
  • Contribute to team fee, billing and profit targets

 

Core Responsibilities:

Clients & Marketing

  • Support the team plan to grow presence within the living sector and enhance existing client base
  • Act as prime client interface on projects s/he manages, i.e. update clients on progress, answer queries, provide advice
  • Familiar with Cushman & Wakefield corporate structure and seeks to develop internal and external networks
  • Support the team profile in the market through personal market presence
  • Supporting all other team members by contributing to client presentations, bids and pitches
  • Identifies key technical issues/ problems in transactions and offers appropriate solutions
  • Provide input to support delivery of client assignments, i.e. prepare and process technical information
  • Work collaboratively to generate new instructions and pool expertise within the team
  • Proactively looks for and is able to identify new business and revenue opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Manage and liaise with internal teams and external consultants to provide a full service to the client
  • Gather and act on client feedback

 

Profit & Finance

  • Identifies opportunities to cross-sell within the division and wider business when discussing a client’s requirements
  • Manage budgets and billing on specific client accounts
  • Effectively use established systems for debtor and disbursement recovery to secure cash flow and profitability, e.g. billing, debt pricing, costings etc

 

People & Teams

  • Coach graduates and Surveyors/ Consultants
  • Keep own knowledge of relevant technical knowledge up to date
  • Proactively seek and undertake on the job and formal developmental activities to broaden experience and knowledge
  • Achieve annual Goals and objectives set within performance review and actively engage in review process
  • Undertake and record the requisite amount of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Support social activities  

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification
  • MRICS qualification preferrable.

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • General practice background for either a corporate, public sector or private practice
  • Rounded experience of commercial and residential and ability to think outside the box when assessing development opportunities
  • An understanding of business development and client relationship management
  • Experience in networking and building relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrable technical competence in areas such as development appraisals and cashflows, S106, CIL etc
  • Demonstrable understanding of market and local knowledge in land relating to PBSA, BTR, CO-living and Residential
  • Business and report writing experience
  • Detailed knowledge of current legislation and case law relevant to role
  • IT skills (Argus Developer, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet etc)
  • High level of numerical reasoning and analytical skills
