SHRI VILE PARLE KELAVANI MANDAL-SVKM can well be proud of its qualitative, quantitative achievements and its services in the field of education for many years now. SVKM commenced its educational endeavor in wake of National movement by converting Rashtriya Shala and developing it into a full- fledged primary and secondary school from the year 1934. The school was named as “SMT GOKALIBAI PUNAMCHAND PITAMBER HIGH SCHOOL” after receiving a generous donation of Rs. 50,000/-from Smt. Goklibai Pitamber Bhatt & her family.

 

A large building on a spacious plot of land was inaugurated in 1938 by the then honorable Chief Minister and Minister of Education Shri. Balasaheb Kher.

Technical and commerce subjects were introduced in the school in the mid-fifties, thereby virtually making it a multipurpose school. The primary wing of the school was handed over to the Bombay Municipal Corporation in 1954. Subsequently, the school has developed into a full- fledged primary school as “Shri M V Nanavati Prathmik Shala”.

 

The whole school has transformed into Semi English Gujarati medium since many years & presently works in one shift.  We have airy and well maintained classrooms with Interactive Boards in some classrooms. The students also enjoy reading at the well maintained library.

Under project “Parivartan” SVKM management provides School uniforms, Notebooks, School bags, Socks & Shoes to all students every year.

As Computers play vital role in today’s digital world, our SVKM has started Computer Education for all students to equip them with basic Knowledge of computers.

“Language Development in English” LDPE program has been introduced by SVKM to provide students with required skills in English language. “Vocabulary Enhancement Program” supports to improve their English.

 We have “Student Development Program” where subject experts guide Std IX & Std X students for achieving higher goals. Students are also trained in Theatre & Dramatic skills by SVKM.. Sports training in various games are provided by SVKM’s special sports coaches.

 

NCC training is imparted to Std 8 & 9 students by our NCC ANO officer past many years.

For motivating the students & to create awareness regarding various career options in different fields, Career guidance sessions are held at regular intervals.
