Purpose of the role 

We seek to hire an accounting professional to join the Investment Fund Accounting Team and work on global fund accounting for its Fund Operations, Mumbai team. This person will have a variety of responsibilities within the Investment Fund Accounting Team of Fund Operations group. He/She will work closely with the clients Investment Fund Accounting group from the Global Finance team [based on the United States]. 

Role Overview: 

The role will involve day-to-day accounting and reconciliations for our esteemed PE client. The role requires strong accounting, analytical and Excel skills. The successful candidate will be expected to work on various Excel models and accounting system to record and reconcile activities and ensure accurate accounting and Month-end Financials. 

Scope & Key Responsibilities 

• To review/prepare the daily cash reconciliation and monthly broker reconciliations. 
• To review comprehensive reconciliation of the fund investments, after each investment is complete. 
• To prepare/review analysis of the general ledger to facilitate month and quarter-end closing procedures. 
• To assist the fund accounting team in preparing and analyzing partners’ capital accounts and the monthly and annual Financial Statements with supporting documentation. 
• To support in preparation and updating of spreadsheets to track partners ownership within a deal or entity. 
• To review/prepare schedules for capital calls and related journal entries and reconciliations. 
• Assist in managing the fund accounting team, prepare and maintain team performance and time metrics. 
• Proactively identify opportunities to create efficiencies/improvements in processes. 
• To liaise with various external and internal parties (e.g., client, external auditor, other GA offices etc.) in the day-to-day accounting of the Fund and other custom reporting and projects for specific investor needs. 

 

Qualifications & Education Requirements 

• CA or MBA Finance 
• Work Experience-8-10 years 
• 2+ years of team management experience 
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and familiarity with Investran etc. 

 

Preferred Skills & Competencies 

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, macro skills and knowledge of Alteryx and Power BI are a plus 
• Well Organized, proactive and able to effectively prioritize and balance multiple efforts in a fast-paced, regulatory driven environment 
• Ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects without compromising quality 
• Expert technical understanding of Private Equity concepts and fund accounting 
• Must have good communication skills and know how to deal with international clientele 
• The individual must be collaborative, adaptable and must be a team player and should be willing to mentor other associates in the team 
• Strong experience in documenting processes and standard Operation Procedures 
• Working Knowledge of Investran ledger will be desirable.
