What you will be doing

The Infrastructure Support Specialist’s role is to ensure the prompt resolution of infrastructure related incidents, effective problem management and the stable operation of the SNL infrastructure. This includes, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all core infrastructure equipment as well as network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide mentoring to other staff when required.

Key Responsibilities

Resolve incident and problem tickets within defined service level agreements.
Maintain servers and infrastructure hardware including file, e-mail, print and backup servers and associated operating systems and software.
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products.
Maintain security standards, including internet access, firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

Qualifications

College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or 4 years equivalent work experience; certifications like MCSE, ITIL (Foundation), CCNA, CCA, and Prince2 (Foundation) are a plus.
Hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting, application support, LAN networking protocols, and knowledge of IP and routing protocols.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft SCCM, SCOM, Windows Server 2012, Windows 11), Citrix, Microsoft RDS, Cloud, Virtualization, network hardware (Intel, Cisco), and MPLS standards.
Familiarity with data privacy laws, organizational goals, and objectives with a strong customer service orientation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Self-motivated team player with keen attention to detail, able to present ideas in user-friendly language, and work effectively in a collaborative setting.
