We’re currently recruiting for a Scientist I (Raw Materials) to join our Swindon Quality team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our raw materials through rigorous testing and data analysis—all performed to meet cGMP standards and regulatory expectations.

The Role:

  • Perform finished product QC release testing under daily supervision
  • Use a broad range of analytical techniques including:
    • Balances, pH meter, UV spectroscopy, Karl Fischer titration
    • FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)
    • Dissolution testing and HPLC (including degradation analysis)
  • Develop basic test plans for validation projects
  • Draft stability reports using generated data and protocol guidance
  • Work within LIMS (for entering/checking results) and Qumas (for document control and change requests)
  • Interpret written instructions correctly, maintaining minimal method deviations
  • Produce high-quality data with a strong focus on “Right First Time” performance
  • Independently manage day-to-day lab tasks with minimal oversight
  • Accurately interpret product tracking sheets, specifications, and test methods
  • Identify out-of-specification or out-of-trend results and escalate appropriately
  • Collaborate with Senior Scientists on workload planning and project execution

The Candidate:

  • A BSc or MSc in a scientific discipline or Equivalent experience
  • Hands-on HPLC experience (strongly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of laboratory techniques and instrumentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment
  • Familiarity with GMP practices (desirable but not essential)
