Why This Role Is Right for You
As a Senior Fraud Intelligence Specialist, you’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team based in Italy - Milan. The Senior Fraud Intelligence Specialist plays a critical role in the end-to-end fraud prevention strategy, working cross-functionally with the different departments of the Fraud Intelligence office.
The role combines investigative expertise, strategic thinking, and a data-driven approach to identify emerging fraud trends, propose innovative fraud rules and algorithms, and support the evolution of fraud systems and operational processes.
About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:
- Perform in-depth analysis of fraud cases to detect emerging trends, points of compromise, fraudulent merchants, and complex attack patterns.
- Write, optimize, and maintain fraud detection rules in collaboration with operational and technical teams.
- Support blacklisting and mitigation actions on IP addresses, merchants, devices, and fraudulent e-commerce accounts.
- Collaborate with the Fraud Innovation & Key Projects team to define business requirements and provide expert input on fraud-related initiatives and system evolution.
- Contribute to the design and testing of advanced fraud detection algorithms in close cooperation with the Fraud Analytics Lab.
- Support continuous improvement of fraud alert workflows and performance monitoring (KPIs), including automation proposals.
- Act as a liaison between Fraud Intelligence teams, Contact Centers, and banking partners for the handling of critical fraud cases and SLA governance.
- Coach and mentor junior analysts within the operational or analytics teams.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fraud prevention or investigation (minimum 2–4 years), preferably in digital payments or banking environments.
- Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL and Excel. Knowledge of SAS, Python, and PowerBI is a strong plus.
- Deep understanding of fraud schemes targeting e-commerce and card payments.
- Hands-on experience with the design, tuning, and monitoring of fraud detection rules.
- Familiarity with fraud prevention systems (e.g., rules engines, blacklisting tools, alert workflows).
- Excellent investigative and analytical thinking.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage shifting priorities.
- Operational flexibility and resilience in high-pressure situations.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working with cloud-based fraud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Previous mentoring or team coordination experience.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and frameworks (e.g., PSD2, AML).
