Overview

The key purpose of this role is to support the oversight and delivery of the Regulatory Change program for MUFG Retirement Solutions division of MUFG Pensions & Market Services and enable the business to achieve its business objectives within MUFG’s risk and compliance management frameworks and risk appetite. Overarching priorities in this role include:
  • Administer Regulatory Change Pipeline: Identify, assess, and communicate regulatory changes affecting superannuation trustee services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support Change Delivery: Help business owners and delivery teams interpret regulations, assess risks, and implement changes.
  • Communication & Reporting: Prepare regular and ad hoc updates for stakeholders on regulatory changes.
  • Working Group Oversight: Lead internal groups to manage change delivery and escalate issues to the Regulatory Change Committee.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with peers and other Group functions to enhance the global Risk and Compliance function.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus 
  • Deliver high quality and considered analysis of upcoming regulatory change and other industry developments impacting services to trustee clients
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of concise and effective communications for various internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the business to operationalise regulatory change to ensure the delivery of efficient, and compliant administration and other services
Operational Management 
  • Administer and maintain the Regulatory Change Pipeline for MUFG Retirement Solutions
  • Co-ordinate the provision of updates and risk issues from business owners to the Regulatory Change Committee
  • Maintain and update as required Regulatory Change program information, systems, templates, and documents
People Leadership 
  • Facilitate internal regulatory change working groups as required
  • Collaborate with the wider Risk and Compliance team to support the achievement of collective team goals
Governance & Risk 
  • Support internal stakeholders to identify and manage risks in regulatory change
  • Assist with projects which provide a value added service and a reduction in operational risk to MUFG Retirement Solutions which facilitate retention of existing profitable business and profitable growth of the client portfolio

  Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, policy, law, or a related field desirable and/or minimum 3 years relevant experience 
  • An understanding of or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of superannuation technology, payments, and regulatory reporting systems and standards
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and experience preparing tailored communications for a large audience of internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience analysing, documenting, and communicating business impacts during regulatory, systems, processes, or other organisational change
  • Technical understanding of and experience interacting with risk and compliance management frameworks, and associated IT systems
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with experience liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all professional levels up to and including executives highly regarded
  • Experience interpreting, analysing, and communicating legislative change and/or obligations within a superannuation or other financial services organisation not essential but highly regarded
  • Project experience and understanding of project methodology desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and critical analysis skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and take accountability and initiative to identify and address emerging opportunities and risks
  • RG146 Superannuation advantageous
