We're hiring a self-employed Food Technologist based in Poland in a remote role.

This role involves implementing and managing product and raw material specifications to ensure consistency, quality, and traceability. Responsibilities include reviewing packaging for regulatory compliance, providing legislative and linguistic corrections, and meticulously reviewing artwork and labeling. The role also supports menu compliance for restaurants, confirms ingredient compliance, and advises on reformulation if needed. Additionally, it involves identifying risks and opportunities for claims, reviewing raw materials for regulatory compliance, generating label information, and coordinating nutritional data analysis. Experience in the field will help clients navigate complex regulations and maintain high standards in their products.

  • Organize and implement administrative systems and procedures, and specific set of tasks for projects pertaining to food and product regulatory compliance and nutrition labelling services.
  • Meticulously review artwork elements that accurately represents food product while meeting all applicable regulations and guidelines in chosen market. 
  • Review for compliance labelling information such as Nutrition Facts tables, ingredient lists, allergen information and others.
  • Provide legislative and linguistic corrections for mandatory and voluntary text.
  • Confirm ingredient compliance for product categories and advise on reformulation if necessary.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for claims, interpret existing regulations, and advise on potential authority responses.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentations and presentations.
  • Participate in courses, conferences and other training opportunities to expand regulatory knowledge base.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant work records, reviews documents, expense reports, timesheets, track documents control. 
  • Degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related discipline, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Relevant work experience that may include knowledge of the principles, practices and regulations pertaining to food labeling.
  • Fluent in Polish and English
  • Proficient with MS Office suite
  • Excellent knowledge of EU regulation
  • Team player with exemplary communication skills
  • Very confident with customers relationship management
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
