The Office of International, Engagement, and Access Programs (IEAP), located in the Dean’s Office, plays a key role in the College of Arts and Sciences. We bridge academic learning via international partnerships and education abroad opportunities to foster informed, global citizenship. We connect and collaborate to support community-engaged scholarship and partnerships that contribute to the public good. We pursue inclusive excellence via broad initiatives to promote student success and a deeper understanding of the world. We also collaborate with the Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research (ABI), also located in IEAP, to support its mission.
The IEAP Office is seeking a creative initiative-taking, well-connected, dynamic individual with strong communication, professional interpersonal and organizational skills, who values consultation and can work independently and collaboratively to coordinate community engagement and related initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and related support for community engagement initiatives and activities: (1.) serve as a resource for departments and faculty in planning or developing networks or programs for community engagement, (2.) develop and maintain a database of the IEAP Office, departmental, and faculty community engaged scholarship, community-based learning initiatives, or engagement programming (3.) develop or curate network database(s) of community engagement (signature) partner(ship)s, (4.) promote community engagement programs in collaboration with the Communications & Marketing, Web Design and Content Management, or other related offices on campus or the community.
Coordinate and collaborate with the UofL Office of Community Engagement on A&S faculty community engagement town halls, professional development opportunities, (signature) partner(ship)s, assessment of community engagement initiatives/activities, and promotion of community engaged scholarship, community-based learning, and community engagement initiatives and activities.
Design, direct, or coordinate A&S community engagement collaborations with A&S departments or faculty, the Office of Community Engagement, our (signature) partners or other partner(ship)s, either in-person or virtual, as assigned.
Manage, either independently or collaboratively, (outside) vendors, volunteers, and venues for our sponsored community engagement programs.
Prepare and submit an annual report for employee performance appraisal to the A&S IEAP Office Supervisor.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree and/or three or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Knowledge of government structures, agencies, and elected officials. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and familiarity with social media; strong organizational skills. Demonstrated experience with coordinating, implementing, and planning programs and events, in identifying contacts and resources, including finances within and external to the university for events and programs.

Organizational skills. The strong ability to organize for office management, administrative work, and successful event planning. The ability to facilitate and coordinate program volunteers, order food catering, and orchestrate event planning, location, set-up, and breakdown. The ability to identify contacts and resources, including finances internal and external to the university for events.
Communication skills. The ability to seek and deliver information, articulate ideas, and listen to others. The ability to collaborate and value consultation. The ability to communicate the unit mission to campus and community audiences.
Data Literacy and Computer skills. The ability to use computer technology to analyze and report data and draw logical conclusions. Working knowledge to competently use the Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to utilize (or willingness to learn) database software (E.g., Adobe, Canvas, etc.), Google platforms, popular social media platforms, People-soft, Workday, and university systems and vendors.
Public Engagement skills. The ability, familiarity or willingness to draw upon established connections to identify, collaborate, and create (new) contacts or connections to public partnerships, government agencies and/or nonprofit settings.
Adaptability and Resilience. Ability to manage time, learn and prioritize tasks, handle situations with grace, and navigate situations with adaptability, flexibility, and resilience in the face of change. The ability to travel locally and (occasionally) nationally and internationally.
Critical Thinking and Problem-solving. The ability to creatively multi-task and critically analyze situations or issues based on evidence. The ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and resolve them independently or collaboratively with others.
Professional Competence and Intelligence. The ability to work across differences, to work effectively in groups, and to build relationships with diverse groups and individuals. The ability to consider multiple perspectives before deciding goals/outcomes, leading to a more productive work environment.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$27.85Target Compensation Minimum:
$18.56Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
