About the opportunity
Westgold Resources are on the lookout for an experienced Emergency Services Officer (ESO) to maintain and monitor all aspects of the Emergency Management Framework across all Westgold Operations.
We have positions across Westgold’s Northern and Southern Operations on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
Westgold is a West Australian gold producer located in the Murchison and Southern Goldfields regions of WA. The Company has tenure of more than 3,200 km2 and operates six underground mines and five processing plants with an installed processing capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes per annum.
The role includes
- Maintain and monitor all Emergency Management and preparedness requirements for the operation
- Ensure compliance with all Poison Permit Medical Protocols, WGX medical procedures and administer medical treatment required to operation personnel
- Coach and mentor the Emergency Response Team personnel within the operations
- Maintain accurate records and data of all emergency response and medical activities
- Identify areas for improvement in emergency response procedures, equipment and training
- Participate in incident debriefings and conducting post-incident analysis to learn from past experiences and implement necessary changes to enhance emergency preparedness
- Complete tasks as per allocated from the Regional WHS Managers
What do I need?
- Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent
- 2+ years demonstrated experience in operation medical response
- Demonstrated Emergency Response in the resources industry (UG desirable)
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue including BG4
- C Class Driver’s License
- HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated capability to manage projects, meet deadlines and operate independently
- Excellent verbal and written skills
