LEAD QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER

We are seeking a motivated and responsible Lead Quality Control Engineer to manage a team of quality control inspectors and ensure consistent monitoring of incoming materials and manufactured product quality. The role involves working closely with the development team to ensure products meet quality standards, identifying and resolving defects, developing control processes, defining critical inspection points, managing non-conformance processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead the QC Inspection Team: Provide leadership to ensure the team achieves product quality performance and operational goals.
- Optimize Resource Deployment: Allocate inspection resources effectively to meet operational requirements and maintain productivity.
- Ensure Process Compliance: Oversee inspection and operational processes to ensure adherence to established procedures, work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop Test Specifications and Programs: Create test specifications and measurement programs for geometric and non-geometric tests.
- Develop and Validate Measurement Procedures: Perform method validation and verification of measurement procedures in compliance with existing regulations and guidelines, including conducting GR&R (Gauge R&R) and process capability studies.
- Collaborate on Inspection Requirements: Work with the quality and engineering team to define incoming inspection and metrology requirements for new products and raw components.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Control, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Expert knowledge in quality inspection techniques, quality tools, failure mode analyses.
- Familiarity with metrology equipment: Coordinate Measuring Machines, Height Gage, Vernier Calipers, Digital Micrometers, measuring tapes, protractors, thread plug gages etc.
- Technical knowledge and strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Effectively apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
- Good communication and cooperation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High accuracy and attention to the detail.
- Fluent in Latvian and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
