Job Description

In your role as Human Resource Manager, you are a strong contributor to the management team; you will create an environment where IKEA culture & values is a strong and living reality. You are an ambassador and good example of IKEA leadership in ways that express the IKEA values within and outside IKEA. You lead store Human Resource team, secure Human Resource subject matter expertise, process Human Resource operations matters and ensure that the Human Resource strategies are locally translated into action most effectively and efficiently to fulfil the purpose of the Human Resource function.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • You ensure the people strategy, principles/guidelines and relevant business plans relate and come together in a local Human Resource action plan that is operationally implemented and lived up to.
     
  • You influence the management team to continuously develop local leadership capabilities within their function according to business needs.
     
  • You support the building of local business competence by setting and working on relevant goals, together with the functional managers.
     
  • You ensure that IKEA is locally known as an attractive place to work and positioned as the preferred employer in the defined local market by identifying and driving the opportunities to develop the relevant offer of IKEA as a local employer.
     
  • You create and implement a co-worker relations plan that effectively manages all local interactions with co-workers and ensures that compliance with local labor policies, procedures and laws.
     
  • Together with the store management team, you secure an up-to-date succession process and plan by influencing the managers in taking the lead with a special focus on talents and high-performing potentials.

  • Together with Business Navigation, you deliver a local staff cost budget which secures a diverse, appropriate workforce structure and meets the defined business and store goals.

Qualifications

WHO ARE YOU

• You have experience as a People & Culture Manager wanting to make a difference in the people space.
• You are flexible, proactive and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• You have an in-depth understanding of key Human Resource functions including talent management, co-worker relations, performance management, change management, IKEA brand, culture and values, strategic staffing, staff cost management, and succession planning, as well as a solid understanding of the Jordanian labor law.
• You believe strongly in individuals’ potential, enjoy supporting co-workers in challenging situations and are passionate about creating an engaging co-worker experience based on the IKEA values and culture.
• You are genuinely interested in our business, have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and are a team player for whom it is natural to support on the shop floor whenever necessary.
• You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to influence, inspire and connect with stakeholders and co-workers from all walks of life.
• You are trustworthy, honest, fair, and possess a good judgment.

Note: Excellent command of both written & verbal English is a must.
