Job Purpose:

To provide an effective auditing service, advice and support in order to increase operational compliance and contribute to client/customer satisfaction, optimal profitability, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements . Drive the execution of Internal Audit plans and processes by monitoring compliance, preparing audit findings and providing assurance of compliance with statutory requirements and policies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and determine the scope of internal audit projects in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accurate and timeous planning, management and execution of audits.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Ensure stakeholders are notified of audits timeously, as per Company policy.
  • Assess compliance with policies, standards, and procedures and analyse data to identify key risks and non-compliance to policy and process.
  • Assess stakeholder action plans, and monitor implementation progress.
  • Construct concise, accurate and consistent audit reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders in order to rectify non-compliance issues.
  • Identify key controls, map processes and test adequacy and effectiveness of control processes.
  • Ensure that audit work is recorded and documented on relevant systems and adheres to the required quality standards
  • Ensuring that audit work is completed within time and cost budgets.
  • Prepare audit working papers to ensure that all information required for audit has been obtained and that shortcomings are reported.
  • Comply with, and ensure the safekeeping of audit related records in alignment with organisational and legislative requirements.
  • Collect and prepare financial information and related data in line with the audit file and approved accounting framework.
  • Deliver work activities in a professional manner consistent with company values and in a way that contributes to client satisfaction.
  • Identify and drive costs, systems, processes and structural efficiencies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

You have an:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance-related fields 
  • Certified Public Accountant qualification or equivalent i.e. ACA/MBA/CIMA/ACCA

You might also have:

  • CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) designation; 
  • CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation;

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) would be advantageous

  • Have a minimum of 5 years strong experience in auditing
  • An advanced understanding of internal audit disciplines, methodologies, and practices.

Experience in the supply chain industry is preferred.

  • Knowledge of internal audit and risk assessment methodologies, international internal audit standards for the professional practice of internal audit and corporate governance principles, and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Good grasp of data analysis, documenting auditing work papers and experience of record keeping systems.
  • Very strong numerical, analytical, and conceptual skills
  • Understanding of key controls and risk management principles
  • Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills
