We are seeking a Purchasing Manager at our Glendale Heights/Schaumburg, IL facility. Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $130,000-160,000. Position Summary

Responsible and accountable for vender selection, assessing vender capabilities, developing alternate sources, evaluating vendor performance and reducing cost of ownership of purchased materials. The Purchasing Manager develops and implements appropriate procedures to ensure all purchased materials and services conform to documented requirements and that the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate. Coordinate follow-up to improve customer service and maintain department records.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct activities of purchasing department.
  • Supplier evaluation and selection.
  • Contract negotiation.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and contracts with global subsidiaries.
  • Development and implementation of supplier quality management systems for continual improvements.
  • Ensures statutory and regulatory requirements are met in procurement of products and services.
  • Position involves traveling to suppliers and conducting on-site assessments of suppliers products, facilities, capabilities and quality management systems.

  • Previous staff administration experience.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or 1 to 2 year related experience and/or training' or equivalent of both. 
  • A minimum of 5 years in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
  • SAP experience preferred.

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

  • Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
  • Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.
