Role Overview
Mosaic is seeking a strategic and results-driven Distribution Manager to oversee all facets of our distribution operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality assurance, facility maintenance, and fleet management. This leadership role demands a proven ability to drive operational excellence while aligning with Mosaic’s high standards of service and integrity. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial and operational acumen, with a track record of effective budget stewardship and identifying efficiencies without compromising quality or performance.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in fleet management, transportation logistics, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Deep understanding of inventory control methodologies and quality assurance best practices.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms; experience with system integration and process optimization is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership presence with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Serve as a strategic leader within the distribution organization, setting clear direction and cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to team members across the distribution center, identifying growth opportunities and aligning development plans with individual and organizational goals.
- Embody and promote Mosaic’s core values by demonstrating ethical leadership, sound judgment, and a steadfast commitment to operational excellence and brand integrity.
Talent Management & Safety Compliance
- Lead end-to-end talent strategies for the distribution team, including recruitment, onboarding, and workforce development, to build and sustain a high-performing team aligned with Mosaic’s values and operational standards.
- Partner closely with Human Resources to implement employee engagement, development, and retention initiatives while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and a culture of professionalism, inclusion, and accountability.
- Champion a proactive safety culture by developing and enforcing robust training programs, conducting routine safety audits, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements to maintain a safe, secure working environment.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee all facets of warehouse operations, including layout design, inventory organization, workflow optimization, and implementation of safety standards to ensure a streamlined, secure, and efficient environment.
- Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures for receiving, picking, packing, and storage, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with Mosaic’s operational benchmarks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives rooted in lean principles, focusing on space optimization, waste reduction, and enhanced operational agility in support of Mosaic’s strategic objectives.
Shipping & Receiving Management
- Direct and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective execution that supports Mosaic’s high standards for customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping and receiving, using data-driven insights to improve lead times, reduce discrepancies, and control costs.
- Manage carrier relationships and logistics partnerships, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring consistent, reliable service aligned with Mosaic’s service-level expectations.
Dedicated Fleet Management
- Oversee the performance and cost-efficiency of Mosaic’s dedicated third-party fleet provider, ensuring driver scheduling, routing, and service execution consistently meet expectations for safety, timeliness, and professionalism.
- Implement and manage strategies for cost control and service optimization, with a focus on fuel efficiency, fleet utilization, and full compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards—supporting both operational excellence and fiscal responsibility.
Inventory Control
- Manage and optimize inventory tracking systems through regular audits, cycle counts, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy, transparency, and control over stock levels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement and sales teams to align inventory storage strategies with demand forecasts, seasonal trends, and customer requirements, maximizing space utilization and minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
Quality Assurance
- Establish and uphold rigorous quality standards across all distribution functions, implementing effective inspection protocols for both inbound materials and outbound shipments to ensure adherence to Mosaic’s expectations of excellence.
- Lead quality audits and conduct root cause analyses for any deviations, collaborating across departments to implement effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product and service quality, reinforcing Mosaic’s reputation for precision, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Facility and Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, implementing proactive scheduling to minimize disruptions and ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operating environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of the building, equipment, and safety systems, coordinating timely repairs or upgrades to maintain compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
- Manage facility-related expenses within budget, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate vendor contracts to optimize spending on maintenance, services, and supplies.
- Direct the upkeep of all material handling equipment, establishing preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and extend equipment lifespan.
