Job Description:
The inventory control clerk will be responsible for physically and electronically receiving deliveries, packaging of outgoing shipments, and coordinating all shipping functions to send materials to services and customers. This position will also be responsible for managing and communicating shipments going out and coming back from various outside service vendors. They will be required to physically pull material for production and transact them out of the ERP System according to the production job schedule, perform material requests, cycle counts, and warehouse cleanliness.
Job Responsibilities:
· Monitor material receiving reports to identify incoming materials required on the production floor
· Review production schedules and daily status of staged orders and confer with Manager, Buyers, and Planning regarding material requirements
· Identify material shortages and support problem solving resolution
· Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in the designated storage location, recording inventory location in the MRP system
· Perform bin maintenance and cycle counts
· Monitors inventory shelf-life and follow first-in first-out (FIFO) principles
· Pull material from designated storage location, issue and verify material listed on the production work order or material request form
· Responsible for material movements in MRP system with production work orders
· Perform appropriate data entry to issue/receive/transfer inventory
· Delivers all material requests to the staging area or informs requisitioner of status
· Processes returned materials by verifying the material, batch number, and quantity, transacting the material back into stock
· Assist with production work order confirmations and resolve discrepancies, as required
· Identifies process, warehouse layout, and work area improvements to increase productivity
· Support annual inventory processes
· Receives all direct and indirect materials delivered
· Processes purchase order receipts and verify product and paperwork provided with the shipment
· Informs requisitioner of item receipt or delivers to incoming receiving inspection designated location for further processing
· Schedules pick-ups with FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. as required
· Transacts shipping paperwork in ERP system, initiate the shipping process, and prepare all paperwork necessary for each shipment
· Maintains/orders material handling and shipping supplies
· Distribute shipping reports
· Daily warehouse upkeep
· Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent,
· 4-6 years of work-related experience
· Read and comprehend procedures written in English
· Knowledge of general math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
· Basic computer skills and knowledge of various computer software programs
· Frequent standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time, lifting, carrying, bending, walking, and stretching
· Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Able to climb ladders to pull product
· Excellent attention to detail
·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well with others
