Biomerics is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on President, Costa Rica to lead our rapidly growing, dual-site operations in Costa Rica. You will drive growth, operational excellence, and strategic alignment and technology transfers between our Costa Rica assembly centers and U.S.-based Micro Metals and Plastics Divisions. As the central figure in-country, you’ll engage closely with the global executive team, major stakeholders, and local leadership to deliver operational results and scale our international platform. The President of this division must be an energetic manager with strong capabilities across Biomerics’ core operating functions (manufacturing, supply chain, operational excellence, and engineering) and have the ability to be tactically hands-on when needed while maintaining a strategic view. The President must have a strong drive and track record of creating value and driving accountability across multiple functions by establishing and enhancing operational capabilities, increasing efficiency, and instilling a culture of excellence, rigor, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Leadership & Integration
- Serve as the senior executive leading Costa Rica operations, acting as a critical liaison between local teams and global leadership (COO, Presidents, Board, and investors).
- Define and execute short- and long-term operational and strategic plans for Costa Rica sites, aligned with overall Micro Metals and Plastics division goals.
- Develop and drive production forecasts and delivery to meet those requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end assembly processes, enforce continuous improvement, and drive adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Manage SIOP and working capital.
Financial Performance
- Own P&L accountability for Costa Rica operations.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting; present performance updates in executive reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Align Costa Rica operations with U.S. divisions’ strategy and work closely with engineering, strategic sourcing, and supply chain teams to support global customer base.
- Engage with manufacturing, technology, and engineering teams to ensure innovation and operational readiness.
Business Development & Customer Support
- Partner with commercial teams to support OEM programs locally; ensure world-class customer service, quality, and delivery.
- Represent Costa Rica operations to external partners, audits, and accreditations.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse leadership team across both sites.
- Foster a culture of excellence, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement, while championing local talent development.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with global regulations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation efforts, and champion health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Commercial and Operational Leadership: 15+ years of experience with 10+ years managing manufacturing operations in an international setting (preferably Latin America), including assembly, supply chain, or CDMO/OEM industrial operations.
- Multi-Site Management: Proven ability to lead dual-site or multi-facility operations; familiarity with cross-site coordination and international supply chains.
- Financial Acumen: Strong P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and metric-driven decision-making experience.
- Strategic & Cultural Alignment: Capable of bridging entrepreneurial and structured operational cultures; able to balance long-term planning with hands-on execution.
- Cross-Cultural & Language Aptitude: Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred. Ability to navigate cultural nuances and lead in a bilingual environment.
- Regulatory & Quality Background: Experience with FDA-regulated environments, international standards (e.g., CE, ISO), and medical device manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Leadership & Communication: Engaging, motivational style with strong stakeholder management—including local teams, U.S. executive leadership, and external partners/investors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (required).
- Advanced degree (MBA or MS Engineering) is highly preferred.
