Using advanced technology, CRC’s workforce focuses on safely and responsibly supplying affordable energy for California by Californians. The CRC team is seeking to fill a Tax Manager position. This position will be located in Santa Clarita or Long Beach, CA.
The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $125k - $167K, with a target annual bonus of 15 - 20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Individual pay factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Match, Paid Holidays, FSA, HSA.
The Tax Manager position reports to the Senior Tax Manager. This position will be responsible for corporate income tax matters including compliance, planning, provision and tax controversy. This position will handle day-to-day questions with respect to compensation related matters, information reporting and tax withholding. Knowledge of systems including Oracle and CorpTax is beneficial. Good communication skills are necessary for interaction with senior level management, operational personnel, vendors and tax authorities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation of U.S. federal and California income tax returns
- Preparation of Forms 1042, Annual Withholding Tax Returns for U.S. Source Income
- Preparation of U.S. federal and California stock basis and earnings & profits calculations
- Preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision
- Managing the financial statement audit over the income tax provision and controls
- Prioritizing multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- Manage tax audits as needed. Identify and help develop new audit controls/processes for upon completion of audits
- Managing tax projects related to business initiatives such as tax credits, accounting method analysis, tax reform and structuring
- Assist in analyzing transactions contemplated by senior management
- Assist in managing outside consultants and services providers related to income tax matters
- Assist on all project deliverables related to future software/system implementation
- Assist in preparing presentation material and conducting income tax training to corporate personnel in various departments
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Five (5) or more years of experience working on corporate tax matters, inclusive of two (2) years of public accounting experience
- Upstream oil and gas industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Strong communication, planning and organization skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
- Strong outgoing interpersonal skills working collaboratively with other departments
- Strong technical skills and highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient to advanced skills with Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience using and implementing integrated accounting/finance systems (Oracle) and experience with enterprise resource planning type implementations
